Education is at the heart of Umoja's mission. We have empowered thousands of orphaned and vulnerable children through scholarships, uniform distribution, and essential school supplies. By providing these resources, we ensure every child has the opportunity to transform their own future and, in turn, their community.
We have been unwavering in our commitment to educating the communities we serve. Since our humble beginnings in 2007, we have grown significantly. We began by partnering with 10 schools and providing uniforms to 170 students. With support from donors and partners, we've grown to impact thousands of children through our educational initiatives.

Umoja is now synonymous with hope and opportunity, offering orphaned and vulnerable children a brighter future. Since 2007, over 3,000 students have been supported through secondary education. Many students from our program have achieved the grades needed for direct admission to Kenyan public universities. These students, from humble beginnings, have pursued successful careers and made significant impacts on their families and communities. In these close-knit communities, educating one child creates a ripple effect of positive change.
As of 2024, we partner with 21 primary schools and support 4,964 students, known as 'Umoja Students'. Our uniform distribution program provides 1,500 uniforms annually to children in need, ensuring they have the opportunity to pursue their educational dreams.
We currently support 778 students in secondary schools in Kenya. These students benefit from our comprehensive programs, which ensure their academic performance remains strong and their overall development is supported.
Our commitment extends to higher education, with over 150 students sponsored in various institutions of higher education. While funding remains a challenge, we strive to secure more resources to expand our support.
